How affiliate tracking works

How Zoviz tracks referrals: cookie window, attribution, when commissions confirm, and how to keep your tracking intact.

Understanding how tracking works helps you earn everything you are owed. Here is exactly what happens between a click and a commission.

Your link contains a code unique to you (the r parameter). Anyone who lands on Zoviz through it is marked as your referral. Always use the full link exactly as the dashboard gives it — retyping it or trimming the parameter breaks the credit.

The tracking window

A click is remembered for 30 days in the visitor's browser, and the last affiliate link clicked wins. Registration makes it stronger: when someone creates their account through your link, the referral is saved on the account itself, so you do not lose the credit when the cookie expires.

How purchases are credited

Attribution follows the last click at the moment of purchase, with the referral saved at registration acting as your standing click. In practice:

The subscription commission year

Each customer carries one subscription commission year. Whichever affiliate holds attribution when the customer subscribes earns commission on up to 12 months of subscription payments — and once that year has been earned, the customer's later subscriptions do not pay commission to anyone, even years later through a different link. One-time purchases are not affected by this rule.

What counts as a conversion

Commission is earned when your referral makes a paid purchase. A free signup does not pay cash by itself, but it matters twice: the referral is saved on the account so later purchases can credit you, and signups show your traffic quality.

When your commission confirms

New commissions are confirmed after 30 days. If the customer refunds inside that period, the commission is reversed. Once confirmed, it becomes payable on your tier's payout schedule.

Keeping your tracking intact

A few habits protect your earnings. Test your link in a private browser window after placing it. If you use a link shortener, confirm it preserves the full address including the r parameter. For print, slides, or physical materials, use a QR code generated from your full link. And know the limits: tracking lives in the browser, so a person who clicks on their phone but buys later on their laptop may not connect automatically, and cleared cookies or strict blockers can drop a referral. Registration is your strongest protection: once your referral creates an account through your link, the credit is saved on the account and an expired cookie cannot take it away — so encourage people to sign up right after clicking, even if they buy later.

If something looks wrong

If you believe a referral was not credited, contact support with the approximate date, the page you linked to, and how the person reached us. We investigate every report.
