Understanding AI Credits

AI Credits are the fuel for Zoviz's AI generation tools. This guide explains what they are, what each tool costs, how to top up, and how credits relate to licensing.

What AI Credits are

AI Credits are a balance you spend whenever you generate something with AI — an image, a video, marketing copy, and so on. Your current balance is always shown in the top bar. The balance belongs to your workspace, so teammates in a shared workspace draw from the same pool.

Note: some tools (like Presentations) may show a different balance — the number displayed depends on whether the tool is running in your personal or workspace context. [Confirm: exact personal-vs-workspace wallet rules]

Think of credits as fuel: browsing, editing templates, and downloading don't burn them — only AI generation does.

What costs credits (and what doesn't)

Spends credits — AI generation

Higher-effort outputs — like video or premium marketing content — cost more per generation than a single image. That's why credits can drop faster on some tools.

Doesn't spend credits

• Editing and downloading template-based Brand Kit assets (social posts, business cards, letterheads, etc.)
• Browsing templates and the asset grid
• Managing your brand, workspace, and account

How to get more credits

You can top up your balance at any time:

• Charge credits — pay-as-you-go packages of 10, 50, 100, 500, or 1,200 credits; bigger packages carry volume discounts (up to ~37%). Need enterprise volume? Zoviz is a certified Microsoft Partner — enterprise credit packages with consolidated billing are available on the Azure Marketplace.
• Brand Voucher — a bundle of 1,000 credits, which unlocks one full brand.
• Redeem activation code — if you have a code (for example from AppSumo or a promotion), redeem it in your account to add credits or unlock a brand.
• Earn them free in the Customer Club — complete challenges (install the app, write a review, refer friends, share on social) and the credits land in your balance; see Customer Club.

Credits vs. licensing — they're different things

This is the most common point of confusion, so it's worth being clear:

In short:

• Credits let you generate with AI.
• A License lets you download a specific brand's assets in full quality.

You can use up credits without unlocking a brand, and you can unlock a brand without spending many credits. Most users do both.

Unlocking a brand

• Use Upgrade Your License to unlock the brand you're working in.
• Each unlocked brand includes a License certificate confirming ownership of your design.
• Unlocking one brand does not unlock your other brands — repeat per brand.

Tips for managing credits

• Preview before you generate. Set up your prompt and options carefully so each generation counts.
• Use template assets for routine work. Social posts, cards, and letterheads don't cost credits — save AI generations for images, video, and copy.
• Watch the balance in the top bar. Top up before a big batch so you don't get interrupted mid-project.
• Buy a Brand Voucher if you're launching a brand — 1,000 credits plus a full brand unlock in one step.

Common questions

Do unused credits expire?
Check your current plan details in your account for any expiry terms.

Does editing a template cost credits?
No. Only AI generation tools spend credits. Template editing and downloads are covered by your license.

I unlocked one brand but a second brand still asks me to upgrade — why?
Licensing is per brand. Each brand is unlocked separately with its own Upgrade Your License step.

What's the difference between charging credits and upgrading my license?
Charging adds AI generation fuel (account-wide). Upgrading unlocks downloads for one brand. They're separate purchases for separate purposes.
