Licensing & unlocking a brand

Zoviz is free to explore. A license unlocks one brand for full-quality downloads — here's how it works.

Also known as: the button is labeled Upgrade Your License in the Brand Dashboard; on zoviz.com, see Pricing (/pricing).

What a license is

A license unlocks one brand for final output. Before unlocking, you can create a brand, generate a logo, build a full Brand Kit, and design assets freely. Unlocking removes the last gate: exporting everything in full quality.

An unlocked brand includes:

Two types of licenses

Zoviz offers two license levels — pick based on how far you want your ownership to go:

Standard LicenseExclusive License
Commercial rightsFull commercial use — advertising, branding, selling products and servicesEverything in Standard
CopyrightYou hold copyright over your logo for your business's lifetimeSame
The iconLicensed to you; the underlying icon remains in Zoviz's catalogReserved solely for your business — never sold or displayed to anyone else
TrademarkA logo file alone doesn't constitute a trademark, and shared icons are hard to registerExclusivity makes your logo practical to register as a trademark
Cost & termOne-time fee, lifetime, per brandStandard + an extra cost, lifetime, per brand

Standard covers most businesses: you can use your logo and assets commercially anywhere, and the copyright in your logo is yours.

Exclusive is for brands that want the icon to be theirs alone — it's withdrawn from circulation, so no other Zoviz customer can ever buy or even see it. That exclusivity is what makes trademark registration viable.

How the Exclusive License works

Good to know: - Once purchased, the license is specific to your registered business — the icon and business name can't be altered afterwards. - Owning the logo file is not the same as a registered trademark, and registration may require legal consultation — contact your local trademark registration office for advice on the process. Licensing is per brand

This is the single most important rule: each brand is unlocked separately. Unlocking "Acme Coffee" does not unlock "Acme Consulting." If you manage several brands, each needs its own license.

How to unlock a brand

There are two paths:

With a subscription — plans include a quota of brand unlocks (your Panel home shows it, e.g. Brands Unlocked 1/15). On a locked brand, opening any asset offers Unlock brand kit for this brand — one click applies an unlock from your remaining quota.

Per brand — choose Upgrade Your License in the Brand Dashboard, pick a plan, and complete checkout for that brand. (On accounts with an active subscription, this button applies an unlock from your quota instead.)

Either way, once unlocked: downloads and exports are available everywhere in that brand.

In a team workspace? Only the member who created a brand can purchase or apply its license — see Workspaces & team roles.

Common questions

I paid but my other brand still asks me to upgrade.
Licensing is per brand — that's expected. Unlock each brand you want to export from.

Do I lose access to my designs if I don't unlock?
No. Your brand and designs stay in your account; unlocking only affects downloads.

Where's my proof of ownership?
Every unlocked brand includes a License certificate — find it in your Brand Kit under License.
