Licensing & unlocking a brand

Zoviz is free to explore. A plan unlocks your brands for full-quality downloads, and the Elite Logo Kit lets you own a logo icon outright. Here's how both work.

What unlocking a brand means

Before you unlock a brand, you can create it, generate a logo, build its Brand Kit, and design assets freely. Unlocking removes the last gate: downloading everything in full quality.

An unlocked brand gives you:

Full-quality downloads of your logo files and every Brand Kit asset
All export formats for each asset (for example, Word for Letterheads)
A License certificate for the brand, in its Brand Kit under License

Files you download while your plan is active come with full commercial-use rights. You can use them for your business, and you can still use them after your plan ends.

There's no free trial, and you don't pay to explore. You pay when you want full-quality downloads, by choosing a plan.

Plans unlock your brands

Each plan unlocks a set number of brands:

One-time licenses are retired

Zoviz no longer sells one-time logo packages (Basic and Full) or one-time brand licenses (Standard and Exclusive); the one exception is the Elite Logo Kit. Brands are now unlocked by a plan. Agency packages are separate; see Agency Panel.

Licensing is per brand

This is the single most important rule: each brand is unlocked separately. Unlocking "Acme Coffee" does not unlock "Acme Consulting." Each brand you unlock uses one of your plan's brand unlocks, and your Panel home shows how many you've used (for example, Brands Unlocked 1/15).

To unlock more brands than your plan allows, you need a plan with more brand unlocks.

How to unlock a brand

On a plan — on a locked brand, opening any asset offers Unlock brand kit for this brand. One click unlocks the brand with one of your plan's brand unlocks.

Unlocking a brand from your subscription's quota

Not on a plan yet — choose Unlock Now in the Brand Dashboard (or Subscribe Now in the dashboard brand card's ⋯ menu), pick a plan and complete checkout; the plan then unlocks this brand. With an active plan, the same button uses one of your plan's brand unlocks instead.

Either way, once a brand is unlocked, downloads and exports are available everywhere in that brand.

When your plan ends

Canceling a plan doesn't delete your account. You can still sign in, and your plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for — see Billing & subscriptions. When access ends, designs saved in the cloud lock, and the brands your plan unlocked lock again.

Download the files you need before your plan ends. Files you download while your plan is active have full commercial-use rights, and you can still use them after it ends.

Own your logo icon: the Elite Logo Kit

Every Zoviz logo icon is drawn by a designer. On a plan, the icon stays in Zoviz's catalog, so other businesses can use it in their logos too. The Elite Logo Kit is how you make an icon yours alone:

It's a one-time purchase, not a plan.
It transfers ownership of the logo icon to you.
The icon is then deleted from Zoviz's database, so nobody else can get it.

Each icon can have only one owner: once someone buys the Elite Logo Kit for an icon, nobody else can get that icon.

Trademarks

If you plan to register your logo as a trademark, an icon only you own is the practical route: an icon that other businesses can also use is hard to register. Owning the logo file is not the same as a registered trademark, and registration may need legal advice. Contact your local trademark registration office about the process.

Vouchers and activation codes

Codes from AppSumo deals, promotions, and vouchers are redeemed on the Redeem Voucher page in your account (Redeem activation code in the Panel). See Redeem a voucher for the steps.

A brand voucher upgrades the one brand you choose when you redeem it.

Common questions

Can I buy a one-time license instead of a plan?
No. Brands are unlocked by a plan. Zoviz no longer sells one-time logo packages or brand licenses; the one exception is the Elite Logo Kit, which transfers ownership of your logo icon to you.

I unlocked one brand but my other brand still asks me to unlock.
That's expected: unlocking is per brand. Unlock the other brand from your plan if you have brand unlocks left; if not, you need a plan with more.

Do I lose access to my designs if I don't unlock?
No. Your brand and designs stay in your account; unlocking only affects full-quality downloads.

Where's my License certificate?
In the brand's Brand Kit, under License.

Can I use my logo in advertising or on products I sell?
Yes. Files you download while your plan is active come with full commercial-use rights. For other questions about your brand and plan, ask the Zoviz team through Contact support.
